Why should you use a prepper?
Have you ever narrated a book and found out way too late that a main character had a a southern accent?
Does your book have so many characters its hard to keep track of voices?
Do you simply want to spend more time with your family, friends, or by yourself?
As a narrator myself, I understand how demanding the job can be. Time spent recording is only part of what makes a great performance. They say it takes 4-6 hours per finished hour of audio to create an audiobook. That includes prepping the book and recording it. So, in theory that's 40-60 hours just to record a 10 hour book. It doesn't have to be that way!
This is where I come in. I can read the book for you and provide you with all the critical information you need to deliver a great audiobook. What can you expect?

Character sheet providing names, first page mentioned, accents/vocal qualities, character traits and additional notes. Character names will also be highlighted in the corresponding color used to highlight dialogue in the text.

Chapter summaries providing an overview of what happens in each chapter and a list of characters with dialogue.

A word list and pronunciation guide for any names or words that might be difficult to pronounce.

Marking the script by highlighting dialogue, underlining vocal descriptors, or any other requested markings.
All of this is provided for $40 per estimated finished hour using the publishers estimate or the total number of words/9,300 words per hour ( 80,000 words/9,300 words per hour = 8.6 hour book).
Files will be delivered in the form of a Google Sheets link with permission to edit and the manuscript sent as a PDF with the requested marks.

What if I don't need all of your services?
The price can be negotiated based on your needs. $40 per estimated finished hour is the total package. Please EMAIL ME to discuss your options!
What is your project turnaround?
Turnaround depends greatly on the needs of the narrator and the content of the book. I am capable of completing a basic 8-hour book completed in 2-3 days (depending on needs). We will discuss deadlines and delivery when we set up your project. All projects are turned in at EOD on the chosen date.
Do you prep non-fiction?
I do! Non-fiction prep is mostly comprised of word lists and pronunciation but based on the text, we can discuss your specific needs.
My book is pretty triggering. Is that okay?
Absolutely! I narrate a lot of triggering material myself. I have no issue prepping books with major triggers but you are welcome to check-in with me if you would like.
